Maths results

 

Year 2 completed their final Maths test today!

Well done everyone, it was a extremely hard test and you were all maths magicians.

 

They have all individually been given their score, and I will give them their overall percentage next week.

 

Again well done.

You have had a busy week with tests.

 

Only 1 more to go.

 

The children will complete their final test next Friday (writing).

 

Literacy results

 

Each child has been given their scores for the Grammar and Reading and Comprehension tests that they completed this week.

 

Some children appeared a little upset with their scores, I have explained to them that they are completing the same test of British children with English as their first language and should be extremely proud of their results and their fantastic progress they have made this year.

 

They were not easy tests and are in line with the new National Curriculum grading system.

 

Well done everyone in Year 2, you are all superstars!

 

 

Homework

 

If your child has returned this weeks homework, I save sent it home today instead of waiting until tomorrow with this weeks homework in.

 

As they have their first maths test tomorrow they can use the previous homework to practice this evening and tomorrow evening for Fridays final maths test.

 

If they could concentrate on the maths practice over the next two evenings and then the Literacy over the weekend/beginning of next week.

 

Next week we will be concentrating on their final Literacy assessment (Writing).

The weeks Literacy/Read Write Inc lessons will be a build up for their final writing assessment on Friday.  

 

Aqua Land

Reminder

Aqua Land reply slips.
We need all the reply slips back from parents for your child to attend the Aqua Land trip.

Costumes

 

Just a reminder if we can have all the costumes in as soon as possible.

Next week we will be having a Year 2 dress rehearsal at the beginning of the week and then their final while infant dress rehearsal on Thursday.

 

Literacy tests

Year 2 have completed two of their end of year Literacy tests this week.

They have completed the Grammar and Reading and Comprehension.

They will have their final Literacy (Writing) next week.

 

Tomorrow they will complete their first of two Maths tests, with the final one being on Friday.

Both tests will be an assessing what they have learnt over the entre year.

Please practice all previous maths homework ready for the tests.

 

Reports are due out soon, but due to space allowance I will be unable to write in their entire progress and scores. I know their are no formal parents meetings this term, but if anyone would like to look at their scores and discuss anything with me, please just let me know I can arrange time to go through anything with you.

Maths practice tests

 

This week the class has completed 2 maths tests to prepare for their final end of year tests/assessments.
 

After just marking both papers, they have done very well overall.

 

Their marks for the Arithmetic paper were fantastic, the marks for the problem solving and reasoning papers were improved but is an area I will concentrate on for the remainder of the year and hope to see further improvements when they complete their final tests.

The children have been told their scores today.
